Fall is here! Glorious, glorious Fall! It’s time for apple everything, countless trips to the pumpkin patch, colorful trees, crisp walks through crunchy leaves, and playful family photo sessions. We love documenting sweet families all throughout the year, but there is just something extra magical about portrait sessions that take place in Fall.
We met up with the Maslen family on a brisk September morning at McMenamin’s Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. Years earlier, this was the very spot where Corey and Alexis first fell for each other, and we absolutely love how they chose to take portraits at a place that is so near and dear to their hearts. Their little girls could not have been more adorable as they explored and played among the apple trees. Audrey couldn’t wait to show us the “berry forest”- an enchanting name she gave to a row of berry bushes running along the exterior of the garden. Toddler imaginations are simply the best! Sweet Charlotte, who just turned one, loved toddling around after her sister and picked up as many apples as her little arms could carry.
A silly little side story… Alexis and I went to high school together and have kept in touch on Facebook over the years. Audrey was born shortly before we got pregnant with Isla. During my first few months of pregnancy I had a recurring dream that I was holding my own baby and every time I would look down at the baby’s face, it would look exactly like Charlotte! These dreams were totally confusing, not only because it was Alexis’ baby, but also because I was absolutely certain I was having a little boy- so much for my mother’s intuition!
